CW’s newest superhero show? Too Much Too Soon ?

The CW announced earlier this week that it has placed a pilot order for a new show, that was pitched to FOX first, called Black Lightning. If ordered to series, that will make the fifth DC show on the network, after The Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl (who moved from CBS to The CW for its second season).

The show would focus on the character of Jefferson Pierce. It would also mark the second African-American actor to be the main character on a show. The other beings Netflix’s Luke Cage.

The Arrow as already been renewed for a sixth season, The Flash for its fourth, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl for a third season by the CW. wouldn’t a fifth show be one too many? Or is The CW going to do like what they did with The Vampire Diaries / The Originals and offer the fifth show mid-season?

Regardless if it get’s ordered or not, who would you like to see play the titular role?
