What looks like a slip and fall death becomes a murder investigation when Maura suspects foul play. The victim is a coach assigned to one particular baseball player, one with substance and alcohol abuse. Tommy, Jane’s brother that did prison time, arrives home. He lives with his mother and Maura, Jane does not think it’s a good idea. When Maura’s place is burglarized, Jane assumes that it’s Tommy. Their main suspect for the murder of the coach is found dead in a automobile crash. However the autopsy reveals that he was not drunk, but being poisoned by antifreeze. Frankie finds in the dumpsters the gloves used for the murder, and turns out one of the players was the killer. Tommy is exonerated of the theft and Jane apologizes to him.
